The Marion Patterson Lowman Scholarship is dedicated to covering all costs associated with the GED program, including testing fees. This initiative supports individuals aiming to earn their high school diploma, become gainfully employed, and/or pursue vocational training or post-secondary education. This one-year, non-renewable scholarship is available to eligible participants.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must:

  • Aged 18 and up.

  • Be a resident of Hillsborough County.

  • Be a participant in the CEO Project's mission, with the goal of gaining employment afterward.

  • Complete a no-cost financial literacy course.

Program Details

GED Courses: Prepare students for the four GED subject area tests, culminating in a State of Florida High School Diploma. The subjects covered include:

  • Language Arts Writing

  • Language Arts Reading

  • Math

  • Science

  • Social Studies

Learning Formats

  • Participants can choose from various formats:

  • Face-to-face traditional classroom experiences

  • Computer-based options for remote learning

  • Classes offered in the mornings, afternoons, and evenings

Child Care Assistance

We recognize that balancing education with parenting can be challenging. Therefore, we may offer child care assistance to eligible participants to help support their educational journey.
